Life membership was conferred on Jim M for his leadership and extensive contribution to the club as President (1997 to 2005), committee member and show manager for most years since the late 1980s, demonstrations at club meetings, annual show and Floriade, and newsletter contributor. Our club grew significantly in its strength and profile during Jim’s leadership. Jim is a long-standing AABC delegate and during Jim's presidency the club hosted the 2004 AABC Convention and co-sponsored initiation of the Australian Native Plants as Bonsai exhibition as the Australian National Botanic Gardens. Jim is also a member of the Bonsai Management Committee for the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia.
